YES! You Can.

Unless otherwise specified, each and every Mind's Ear title is available for broadcast on your station -- traditional broadcast, web radio or satellite. Royalties are determined on a sliding scale (starting with as minimal an investment as the purchase of the CDs themselves, and shipping), based on the nature of YOUR station. We don't want anyone to be denied rights based on financial issues -- but please understand that we can't afford to give away free copies of our work to everyone who inquires either! If you'd like to broadcast/webcast our work, thank you! We're reasonable people. We'll work something out.

SPECIAL OFFER FOR BROADCASTERS INTERESTED IN FRENCH QUARTER:

September 2005: As a part of our Hurricane Katrina fundraiser campaign, we would like to extend a special offer to community broadcasters. As we've said above, we simply can't afford to give away copies of our work to every station that inquires, and, as we've said above, we're reasonable people. If you're interested in adding French Quarter to your upcoming schedules, all we ask is that you buy the series at the special Hurricane Katrina rate ($44.95 + $4.00 s&H for broadcasters), and we will waive any broadcast fees or royalties -- AND we will still make a $25 donation to the Red Cross. We'll also send along a CD with a selection of PSAs for your use, which will mention (without the dreaded call to action) our fundraising efforts, and we'd appreciate it if you would either use these - or at least mention our campaign on the air. Email us for more info. As we said, we're reasonable people, and we don't want to price your station out of the loop. We want folks to HEAR how special New Orleans is, and we can work together to make that happen.

Please also understand that broadcast rights are NOT automatically granted by the purchase of our work! This is a situation we've encountered with smaller, community stations and web-based broadcasters.

IF you already own a copy of our work, and you'd like to broadcast it, please contact us. As we said above, we're reasonable people. We'll work something out.

A Brief, But Impassioned, Note from the Soap Box: We're not in this to gouge the very people who like our work enough to share it, but audio theatre producers need to take a stand! We, as individuals, and an industry, deserve fair recognition for our work. It is a sad state of affairs when ANY artist is denied proper credit and reward for his or her work, and that is a plague that affects our industry! Everyone WANTS to broadcast it, but no one feels that it is worthy of the same financial consideration as any OTHER recording artist or producer would recieve. A chilling example: We were recently approached by a big-name satellite service (that LOVED our work) -- and when we (reasonably) asked what sort of budget was available for broadcast rights, they scoffed. Given that they CHARGE people a tidy sum to subscribe to this service, it is REPREHENSIBLE that they deny the producer ANY compensation for the programming WE created. Period. You shouldn't profit from work you haven't paid for. Few people understand how time-intensive this work is, and how many people are involved: at LEAST an hour of time for every MINUTE of finished audio -- and on most shows, it is much, much more than that. (some of our shows have needed five hours in studio per finished minute of audio -- and that is not taking actor rehearsal and recording time into account. To say that THAT investment of talent and time is unworthy of compensation is, well, insulting. It's time that this dismissive attitude change! If it's good enough to broadcast...it's good enough to merit a piece of your budget. We, as audio theatre producers -- professionals and hobbyists -- need to take a stand on this issue, or nothing will ever change.

Thank you for your attention...now let's move the audio theatre industry up a notch on the broadcast food chain, what say?

Please contact the producers/owners to learn more.
